Financial-access spots based on need

I do not currently bill insurance directly. I can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement through your PPO — many PPOs cover a portion. We'll discuss what works in our consultation.

What's included

  • · 50-minute secure video sessions
  • · Brief between-session messaging for scheduling and logistics
  • · A monthly superbill for PPO out-of-network reimbursement
  • · Bilingual care — sessions in English, Spanish, or both

On sliding scale

I hold a limited number of reduced-fee spots for clients for whom the standard rate would be a barrier to care. These spots rotate as my caseload changes — please ask during your free consultation.

On insurance

I am not in-network with insurance panels directly. If your plan has out-of-network mental health benefits (most PPOs do), you can submit the monthly superbill I provide for partial reimbursement. Call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask about "out-of-network outpatient mental health" benefits.

Good Faith Estimate (No Surprises Act)

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and facilities are required to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services. As a private-pay client of Back To Joi, you have the right to receive a written Good Faith Estimate of the total expected cost of your care.

  • · You can ask for a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling.
  • · You will receive one automatically at intake.
  • · If the final bill is at least $400 more than the estimate, you may dispute it through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.
  • · More information: cms.gov/nosurprises. Keep a copy of any estimate you receive.

[CONFIRM with Flor before publish — this is standard federal language; adjust the intake/dispute process wording to match her practice specifics.]
